Our horse got a few cuts on her left hind leg about two months ago. The cuts have healed fine, but there still appears to be some slight swelling of the leg and down around her fetlock joint. The back of the flexor tendon is slightly squishy, but there is no heat around the area. Inside the back of her fetlock joint I found a small, hard lump which appears to be peeling off. I am not sure if it is a scab because I don't recall her getting any cuts that low down. She showed no signs of pain when I handled her leg and she runs and bucks with the other horse just fine. Could she have injured the tendon or is there a chance of infection? Should she not be running around on the leg? Thanks

Images are of her swollen leg, healed cut, and lump in her fetlock.

Hrm both feet look the same to me if a tad off.

The peeling spot looks like the ergot, she should have those on all 4? It's like a chestnut.

If she's sound I wouldn't be overly worried but personally would have a vet check her, at least send pics, both legs just look "off".
