I was thinking of getting the tail, mane and body wash for my horse because it's at a store near by. But I see it comes in shampoo and conditioner. Is it going to be bad if I just get the shampoo? I just think its odd to have shampoo and conditioner seperate. Being I wash my dog with only one bottle of wash. But I've never had a horse to wash before and my new rescues need it. I rinsed them today and used my dog wash on the areas where they have terrible bug bites so I can put medicine on it. My mom didn't want me to get the horse wash until I knew if they could be washed. Idk why I was just going to get it anyways but parents make the rules.

I use Mane and Tail and it's fine. I do have the conditioner and only use it on the mane or the tail...don't seem to need it on the body. The 32oz bottle sells for $5 at Walmart and $12 at the tack store, so I obviously by mine at Walmart. ;)

I have even washed my own hair with it. :)

I use the Mane and Tail Shampoo on their body as well as mane and tail. I usually mix it in a bucket of water and apply it with a sponge or cloth or brush. Then rinse ALL the shampoo out thoroughly. Afterwards I only condition (using Mane and Tail conditioner) their mane and tail, not their body. Just like conditioner on humans, you only want to put it on the ends of the hair (aka their mane and tail) rather than on the top of your head (aka their body) because it can cause their coat to be too oily. They're coat already produces natural oils, so I think it's best to let those shine through by giving them a good curry/brush after they've dried! And after you can give them a spray with some polishing product like showsheen

Mane & Tail makes a wash that's already in a spray type system that just hooks to the hose. It's absolutely amazing, and also very cheap and lasts a long time. I think it's just called Spray n Wash or something along those lines.

You don't really need a separate product as a conditioner. A good natural horse shampoo will do the trick. I also use this equine wash for my dogs with good result and nice shine. It is a 3-in-1 product.
Even better results if you use a natural sea sponge for horses. You can even skip the shampoo and just rinse and sponge. Just shampoo less often. But make sure the sponge is a natural sea sponge.

I use mane and tail on my horses, always have, always will. It gets them clean, and that's all that matters.

I use the conditioner on their mane and tail and not their bodies. My fiance used it on his hair when he had really long hair. It's what kept it nice and tidy.

If you use the mane and tail, make sure you don't put the soap directly on the horse. You want to add it to a bucket of water. Horses hair is so dense, that if you put it on directly, you'll never get all of it out! So water it down some. :)
