Taking requests for horse portraits

Hello, I'm open for requests on free or commissioned horse portraits. Just post a picture of your horse and I'll draw it. :) I prefer full-body pictures with lots of highlights and shadows but anything works. I can use pastel, pencil, colored pencil, ink, charcoal, and for paid commissions I can use oil or acrylic paint.

Here are some examples of my work:

"Baquito" - 20 x 16 oil on canvas

"Dragster" - 18 x 24 pastel

"Pyro Thyme SA" 9 x 12 graphite

Your oil painting is fabulous. I love, love, love the background. I would have never thought to make it brown too, but the horse stands out amazingly enough. Here's my request. Do whatever inspires you!

Just a short interjection here; The first picture that Peppyrox posted of her horse shows a horse in perfect self carriage. If we could ride our horses and they look like that , that would be perfection!

See how he has lifted the base of his neck, the neck has a perfectly arched line to the poll, where the head falls naturally down, almost exactly on vertical.
One lovely horse!!!

Very off topic, but I realised it as well.
Thanks everyone for all of the requests! I really had no idea how popular this thread would be. Once there gets to be 10 requests, I'll temporarily be closed until I can get caught up, but I will get started as soon as I can.
ME ME ME - Me number 10!! I would love to have one done.

I don't have many pictures of him yet, and the pictures I DO have are from when we first got him and he looks kinda "rough" (under weight and blotchy hair) But you can fix some of that when you do the picture ... I mean, you don't have to do him exactly as he looks in this picture (you can smooth the fur out a lil and make him a "lil" more plump if ya want - that would look better) But you're the artist ... so you go for it!

I do love this picture (besides him being under weight and having blotchy winter fur)

Ohh I think I'm number 10! I would love a drawing of Dozer (Youre a GREAT artist! I'm jealous because I can barely even draw stick people) I'll post a few pics and you can choose whichever one you want. Thanks so much!

Thanks again for all of the requests, I will be starting tomorrow. :) For now, free requests will be temporarily closed until I can get a few drawings finished.

Some more information on paid commissions:

Prices start at $10 for detailed graphite and go up to $75 or more for detailed oil paintings. It is up to the commissioner if they want the original sent to them or if they would rather have a high quality digital photo of the work. Commissioned work also take priority over free drawings.
