I was running errands with a friend today and we stopped at a garage sale. My friend says "Hey, do you need any saddles?" Me - "Um, well no, I have a dozen." Then she says "But you don't have a dressage saddle & you did just get a horse that has dressage training" Lo & Behold a very moldy hadn't been used in years dressage saddle. Couldn't find a maker's plate but it is leather.
After a quick 15 minute clean, this is what I picked up for...wait...wait for it...$20!
Now on to shopping for leathers & irons! The best part though, it fits Missy perfect!
The lady asked me to come back because she was sure she had a few more things. Her daughter rode for one semester at University and left the stuff in her garage. As it turned out a few more things was 4 halters, 3 quilted dressage pads (2 toklats), 3 fleece english pads, a brand new in plastic bareback pad, and 2 sets of reins - FREE!!!! I am going back after a student's mom gets off work to try out a 15'5" Blue ribbon close contact for $15.
I feel slightly guilty for getting the steal of the century but hey, can't pass up opportunity when it's staring you in the face right?
