Takes up less room, doesn't have to be boarded, doesn't eat, doesn't poo, doesn't need exercise or grooming, doesn't need a farrier, doesn't need a vet, you can keep it in a spare room and it's quiet. Doesn't need hay if there's a shortage. If you lose interest, it won't notice it's being ignored. Might be just the thing for a spoiled teenager.
