Hello,

I am new here and hoping to get some land in Maryland. Anybody have any good places that might do well, reccomendations on how to be sucssful, or for any boarders, what are some things you would like to see in a equestrian center and what kinds of things you like?

Also, what is a good option to fix muddy paddocks. I would like to fill in a small area so its not muddy. I was thinking sand but wasnt going to go till I knew for sure it was good.

Hey, Firstly welcome to the forum!!
Hope you have fun here.
Also the main problem with sand is i can get real mushy. You might aswell just leave the mud if your going to use sand.
I actually used some kind of gravel/brick a while ago and it worked wonders. It was crushed small enough so that it didnt mess with the horses hooves or health but it didnt mush or let it flood. It worked really well keeping the mud away. It was also cheap to get aswell.

I would say it depends on why you have small muddy areas. Is there no drainage there? and that is where the water pools? low spots can be built up so they drain away

Many places go out of business here and there only is one place with a lot of boarders: Rosebud River Ranch* in Snoqualmie: Gaited Horses.

I do plan on moving but I want to have a lot of boarders so I can expand.

I attached a picture of a farm I like near me. Its too small and you can see the paddock in front is muddy too. I believe theres 10 horses on 5 acres plus a smaller pasture nearby.

Why do the other places go out of business? Is there no demand for boarding in your area or is it just too expensive?

There is a lot of competition in the area we live in, and around us. You HAVE to have nice things or else your not going to have business.

Rose Bud River Ranch (Link Above) Charges 650 I think and its not supper nice but works. A lot of horses.

Patterson Creek Farm is one I like but dont know how much they charge. They flood though a lot in the barns.

Fox Hollow is $500 per month and they are small but really nice, that front pasture is muddy but the others are not.
