We have a 14 year old QH gelding and a 19 year old maybe TB (no one's sure of the breed). They had a rough winter since they were super skinny when we got them. They've both now shedded out into beautiful, sleek summer coats except on their stomachs. Their sides and stomachs are still fuzzy and more orange in color than the rest of them. The hair doesn't even seem loose when I brush them. Is there anything I can do to help this process along? Or should I not worry about it and trust that when it hits 98 degrees this weekend they'll sweat it off?

Are they current on deworming? If they are still underweight they will shed this when the body is ready. The new coat actually begins about December even tho we don't see it hidden in the longer coat.

They are current on deworming and still underweight, yes. Glad to know I don't have to worry about it. Thanks. :)
