So here's the deal, I got my horse from my sister. When she got him, he was apparently "a great trail horse" however, she did not ride him enough and he basically spent 6 years in a pasture getting fat. I now have fatso and have been riding him for about 8 months. There are times when I ride him and things go really well, and there are times that I ride him and things go not so well. This isn't my first horse, I had one when I was growing up and rode him quite a bit. So this is my first horse that has problems. Since things weren't going so well with him I decided to take lessons and he got a lot better, as did I. But my trainer moved to france to train horses for some fancy smancy outfit over there. He is a pretty good horse he is just really onry, and would rather go back to being a pasture ornament. So my real question is should I send him somewhere and just have them give him a tune up or should I find a new trainer and try to do it myself. Things have also kind of stalled right now due to this cold Indiana winter. All I am really wanting is a good trail horse to have fun with, not really interested in shows. Our other horse is a real sweetheart with no vices I am just wanting to get him there so me and my husband can take them more places.
