Too old to cut

I have a 14 year old gelding that I think would make a great cutting horse. I talked to a cutting professional about my horse, and he said my horse is too old to learn too cut.

So my question is, can a horse be too old to learn to cut?

No never too old. But cutting is incredibly hard on horses, I would question if you're willing to sacrifice your horses soundness.

Why not try penning or reined cow horse?
