This is the video from my tryout to make A&M's Horsemanship Clinic Team! It's basically just a big pattern encompassing all the basic maneuvers we learned through out the first half of this semester. I've never really seen myself on video before so I'd like some critiques that I can look back in the video and see!

I think I sit pretty far forward, I get pretty into it lol Snickers also doesn't look too collected at the lope which surprises me because she is extremely smooth!

Let me know! :)

If it helps you understand what I'm doing, here's a description of the pattern:

1. Trot logs
2. Right circle
3. 2 left circles using squaw rein
4. Stop and walk over logs
5. Arc/hip in one circle to right
6. Counter arc one circle to left
7. Right lead circle, simple lead change
8. Complete circle, stop and roll back into trot
9. Stop and turn 360 to left.
10. Lope off, one circle, roll back
11. One circle, roll back
12. Lope over logs
13. Break to trot
14. Two-track left, then right
15. Extend the job
16. Stop and back

I don't ride western competitively, so I may be wrong, but your hand seems to be WAY over dramatizing your neck reining..

yeah, your hand and body are way too far forward, and in the turns on the hind you are off to one side quite markedly. I would say working on sitting up straight and sta;ying centered in the saddle. It's almost like you are trying too hard to help the horse, who doesn't appreciate it. If you stay more centered, you will really be helping her.
