I found an ad on craigslist for an almost 2 year old Tennessee Walking Gelding.... I went to go look at him, and gave a deposit for him.....But I'm concerned about something...... His back ankles seemed sore and somewhat swollen... he didn't seem to want to move very fast or put much weight on them (but when I felt them he did not really pull away in pain).....The lady said the reason they're like that, is because the farrier trimmed his hooves too short, and left too much heel on....She also said the farrier said he's got "lazy horse" from his frogs being too deep....? ...But they looked normal to me...And she said he would grow out of that with plenty of exorcise... ? ...I'm going to get him vet checked this weekend before they bring him here.... But I just wanted to see what you guys thought..... Also, his pasterns look long, don't they? I know that can cause **** foot..... In the second pic, you can see his back legs don't look right (swollen/painful).... ....Well, if anyone knows, let me know what you think about this...... does it make sense that his back legs are like that from getting trimmed wrong?? ...And what do you know about "lazy horse" feet??? ....Thanks!
