sometimes i do. my horse can do both so i use an english bit on an english bridle with western reins and saddle. or go all western but with direct reining and posting

 

Absolutely!

I also neck rein while I ride English, and use a Western headstall with a snaffle and English reins. :P

 

All of the time! I did however just buy a western headstall but don't have reins for it so i will be riding Wenglish for a while.

and i am always neck reining him when im just strolling around english
but he definitely likes his western bits more then the english. if only english werent so picky hehe

I think it's an interesting combination! My horse definitely likes it. Sometimes I switch it up and ride with an english saddle and a western bridle. I guess that would be more Estern than Wenglish

I don't really tack my horse up that way, but I guess wearing western attire could count? until I start actively showing, I'll be too cheap to buy any actual english attire...so jeans, or slacks and whatever type shirt...Lol!

 

I've done both mixtures plenty
my last horse was mostly western but towards my end of my owning him I purchased my english saddle, but he only had a western bridle so I rode a lot in an english saddle and western bridle
and now with my new horse, he's mostly english but sometimes I want to ride him western and he only has an english bridle so I do western saddle, english bridle
so I ride western, wenglish, english, and enstern

I do I do! Malibu is more of an english horse than a western horse, even at her slowest she is doing laps around all the other western horses I ride with. It's easier to just post instead of try to sit it out. But I have yet to find an english bit that I really like her response to so I ride her in a western bridle with her western bit one handed posting away in my english saddle!

 

I have a friend that rides in an english saddle and uses a western bridle and mecate reins!! Guess you could say she rides "engwest" - I say if it works for YOU, go for it!
