Hi, I'm wondering how early to start doing horse stretches. I am getting a 1.5 year old filly and wonder if it's too early to start doing some stretches with her, or if I should wait until she's 2 or older? Or maybe I could do the "carrot stretches" and wait for the others. The stretches that I'm referencing and interested in doing are in the link below:

Obviously, I would make sure she's very comfortable being touched all over and wouldn't over exert her for the non carrot stretches.

Any suggestions/advice would be great thanks!

I think he answered your question at the beginning, talk to your vet first. If one is out next or a quick phone call or a quick stop in at their office while running errands. My vet always is happy to be consulted. That's what they are there for. :)

I agree with the above--consult your vet.

That said, I can't imagine that you would hurt a yearling by doing stretches. Just keep them minimal. I would think the handling would be good for her.
