okay. so i was doing english pleasure....BORING. its just not for me..no offense to anyone else. i have a 3 year old. i trained him so he has the basics. walk-trot-canter-halting-backing-pivots.
well i wanna switch disciplines. but idk what too. something with a thrill. and an english discipline. but i want to do something that he is suited for. because i would never give him up. i do love to jump. and he is an upcoming 4 year old (june). but idk. i cant decide. i jump around ideas of different disciplines. i need helpp!! he is calm, athletic, buit pretty well,he needs something simulating he gets really bored just hacking around a arena. so what do u think me and him(mostly him) are suited for??
oh and PLEASEE CRITIQUE HIS CONFORMATION.

He looks like he would make a good hunter. Without seeing him over fences, I mean. He has a flat kneed trot and is very flashy.
A piece of advice - don't push him. Maybe do poles and x-rails this year and move him up to higher stuff when he is older. I would also get a vet to do a work up on him to see if he will stand up to jumping.

Well, if you like to jump, than jump

Just take it super easy for a while with him being so young, you don't want to over do it on his joints.
In the meantime, I'd be doing some dressage work with him. Get him engaged, over his back, supple, round, and learning lateral work (leg yield, turn on the forehand, shoulder in, travers) and trail ride him. Have some fun while also building on his education and strength in preparation for jumping

And like Kayty said, take it easy till he's older and his joints are well develloped (think I spelt that wrong). Also, for ANY jumping disciplin, basic dressage is EXTREMELY important for the horse and the rider, so i recommend starting with that!

Can not see the videos.

He is a cute boy. Please wait to start jumping him. He has pretty fine looking legs and longish (not horribly long but some what long) fine pasterns so best not to put too much strain on him.

If he gets bored easily with the ring work why not take it out onto trails?

Definately looks like a good hunter jumper. But as previously mentioned, don't push him. To keep him supple my do some hunter under saddle classes and small X-rails before moving up. Cavalettis help too xD

I think it sounds like you two would enjoy eventing. If you started dressage now that would give you both a great foundation for starting over fences in a couple of years

He looks like he is very calm I think dressage but hunter would do too he would look amazing!!! I think whatever you decided to do would be good but dressage is fun! (sometimes ) Plus there is alot to do in dressage but in the mean time if jumping is your thing and since he isnt four yet you could do some things to prepare him for it but i know my 3year old gets bored after sometime because he likes a bit of a challenge!!! BTW he looks AMAZING

Dont you dare jump that horse untill he is atleast five and a half and his joints have fully closed over and developed, thats just asking for trouble, hes a baby, take it easy. at almost four he is just developing. hes much to pretty of a horse to be ruined at such a young age, its not worth it

oh and its at 7 that horses are FULLY FULLY developed, so I wouldnt jump over about 1m untill then
