I am looking into this Fly sheet for my horse, she likes to get VERY dirty so I perfer a neck cover to help it be alittle faster on me to tack her up and such, she is also pretty sensitive to flys, as she is TB. I wa just wondering what people thoaght of this fly sheet or if they have one that they like even better. Thanks!

I was going to do one for my horse, but he gets so hot during the summer months that he sweats. I don't want to make him anymore hotter than he has to be. I have seen other horses at the farm, who wear fly sheets and sometimes they are just dripping in sweat. They look soooo uncomfortable. I would just rather have to groom more often and put on fly spray then have to deal with him being grumpy and all sweaty.

I have this fly sheet and I love it!! Unlike most fly sheets it does not make my horse sweat. I've never brought him in from the pasture being sweaty when he has his fly sheet on. It's white (therefore does not attract sunlight like his bay coat) and is extremely breathable. Also, besides running and stomping because of the flies he is more comfortablef and is able to stand still without being eaten alive. Like you said another plus is that it helps keep him clean, too, which is extremely nice! However, I have heard that they changed the material in their fly sheets to one that is not as durable. I bought mine a few years ago so I don't know if this is true or not.

Thanks MudPony!

Jaded Eyes, I tryed no fly sheet last summer and she was freaking out biting at the flies stomping and even with all the fly spray I put on her she just still was so mad about the flies. Also she just lays in in her poo and gross stall so she the smell and such attracts the flies even more. I even tried 4 different types fly spray. lol

I like Kensington fly sheets, but they are expensive and you have to have a horse with a broad chest to fill it out. They are hardy and will last many seasons. They are also breathable and flame resistant. They have many stories on their webpage about horses whose lives were saved by their Kensington blanket.
