IUnder the stirrup jockey, that small flap, should be a makers plate.
If your saddle has billet protectors "original" they often were embossed with make and model along with seat size.
Some were just painted, others actually pressed into the leather along the thought of engraving.

I'll call @unclearthur to your thread....he is our go-to on many saddle questions as a saddlesmith/restorer of...
He may be able to tell you more details and specifics based on what he sees..

WELCOME to the Forum!!

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with that headnail. It looks a bit newer than the glut of generic no-name foam panel CCs which appeared in the early 2000s, but apart from that I've no idea :(

The only time I will ever know something that @unclearthur doesn't - that is a Crown saddle! Matched the headnail to this ad below:

One thing I learned very early on about anything horse-related is the more you know, the more you don't know!!

That's useful info for me too, thanks :D

So without yet researching...
Anyone know any particulars about Crown saddlery and the quality of the saddles they produced?

Its not a brand that rings a bell to me either unless by a model name and the 💡 hasn't gone on yet.

Ideal had a line that had a crown on the nailhead.

I don't recognize the brand itself, I was lucky finding it as a Google search.

The look reminds me a lot of the Collegiate saddles I've had, just based on the appearance of the flap leather type as well as the two-tone look. I wonder if it was one of the small economy brands that used to be produced for and sold for Dover/Stateline/etc.

It has a Queen's crown (curved at the top instead of spiky) with green enamel. I'm not sure if they're a subsidiary or Ideal simple re-badge saddles for them.
I know Ideal at least makes Kruger saddles, I'm not sure who else they manufacture for... I only know this because of a knowledgeable saddle fitter told me. Before, I never knew such a thing happened (besides Thorowgood, Kent & Masters, and Fairfax).

For those interested in 'useless facts', of which I seem to know loads, lol, those latter three are all the same parent company - Rupert and Vanessa Fairfax began with Thorowgood and in about 2005 brought out two leather saddle ranges at different price-points, which morphed into K&M and Fairfax over the following 10-ish years.
Ideal will re-badge saddles for just about anyone who gives them a big enough order! Or they used to (Martin Wilkinson was a big customer). They also own Walsall Riding Saddle Co (WRS), and bought up all the old Barnsby patterns so I'm told.
There are lots of amalgamations - E Jeffries bought Falcon, and more recently Eldonian (who had previously bought W. Brooks, maker of my first saddle!) for example.

Crown was a Dover line, and I believe it was lower end. Their current Debut saddles look very similar.

I remember they used to also have Crown bridles which, IIRC, were somewhere between their entry level Suffolk line and their middle of the road Circuit line.
