I had six-(6) minis....at least until last Wednesday afternoon. That was when the neighbor's quarterhorse adult gelding pulled my 7-year old paint colt, 29" tall at the withers, over the fence and mauled him. Extensive internal injuries finally took his life, even after the vets responded and did what they could. I have a hot wire up now, cattle panels across the shared fence between the pasture/corral area, and the neighbor has already cut this rogue gelding lose again, to run right back up to the separating fencing....What to do?? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Once a full size horse kills a mini, is that it's nature from then on?? Anyone have any insight?
