Long story relatively short...I sent my horse to a so called trainer just to keep her fit and get more miles on her because the conditions were not suitable for riding at my other farm. The "trainer" put a saddle on my horse that did not fit and injured her withers. She has swelling on either side of the rub. I was very worried and called out my vet. He said he was worried about it turning into fistulus withers and to treat with byte for a few days, smzs and no riding....obviously. Her swelling is not enormous and has seemed to decrease until I checked today...they feel full. She is a high withered tb mare so it's easy to tell when somethins isn't right in that area. Is there anything else anyone can think of to do to decrease the swelling or help? Anyone else deal with what I'm thinking is a deep bone bruise? How long was recovery time? What did you do in terms of treatment? Was the horse ever 100 percent normal again? I am greatly upset with this "trainer.". In terms of her, what would you do?? I already have one vet bill and an entire month of training paid for, plus probably more vet and chiro/accu bills on the way....Needless to say I moved my horse out of there as quickly as I could, but I now am unable to use my horse and she's hurt, which is what is upsetting me the most. I am so angry and frustrated....I suppose this is more of a vent so I apologize if it's miscategorized. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks
