Many things can cause colic. You cannot say 'oh, he's not lame, so he's definitely not colicking.' Perfectly sound horses can colic for MANY reasons. If my vet said that to me, I'd be on the phone with a new vet.

Definitely get the dentist out, because if he isn't eating right, he WILL colic.
