White liquid from Mastitis?

Today when I was itchin my mares belly, she loves her belly being itched, I felt her tits and one was bigger than the other so I squeezed some liquid out because I thought she had mastitis. When I looked at the liquid comin out it was white! And it also was semi sticky.
I am freaking out! I dont think she is pregnant because there isn't a stud on my road or in my pasture. All geldings.

So is it normal for a mare with mastitis to have white liquid come out f their tits when squeezed?

Just got in from the barn. Brought a little tub bowl and aquifers a little bit of liquid in the bowl. When I brought it in the house and held it up to the light it was definitely white.

Im not familiar with mastitis in mares. But we have the problem with cows all the time. Normally the tits would be swollen or hard. So im not sure if it is mastitis. But if it is diagnosed as mastitis simple antibiotics always fix it in my cattle. Ask a vet if you dont figure it out. Good luck!

Yeah, it isn't hard really. It's quite soft and nor
Temperature.
Would this happen during her heat cycle? That's what my mom is saying but she just googled it, it's not from personal experience.
I live by a equine vet that works at the track but I'm sure she would know what it's from. I'll ride up to her house on Teddy and ask her what's wrong.
I dont think she is pregnant because I think she was in heat 4 weekends ago, but she was around new horses also. No studs tho.

Has your mare ever had any foals?

I have only owned one mare, my current one, but she was a broodmare before I bought her and she has had 10 foals(!) and the last one is 14 months old. My mare STILL drips milk occasionally. Sometimes she will even squirt a little stream of milk. It's white too, but very thin.

I asked my vet about it last time and he said not to worry about it. It isn't mastitis, she just has had many foals and still produces a small amount of milk for some reason.

I *think* if it were mastitis, it would be painful, hot and the liquid would be thicker, not watery like milk.

If she's never had any foals, I wonder if it could be a hormone issue?

If in doubt, you could ask your vet.

She hasn't had any foals that I know of and No, she isn't pregnant.
I had her palpated last October and she was open, she hasnt been with a stud ever, just geldings.
It's still simi white today. She is walking fine and acting normal and her temp. is regular.
This is confusing:/
