Hi all! I just want to share my great results that I had to get the yellow out of my palomino’s mane and tail, just using shampoo, a paste of baking soda and lemon juice, leaving it in for 15min and then conditioner with gentian violet and leave that for 15min, if there’s abit too much gentian violet, wash out with shampoo again and baking soda, rinse and apply plain conditioner again then rinse out, my mare has really sensitive skin and she had no bad reaction from this! I just wanted to share what worked for me after a lot of horse whitening shampoos that didn’t do anything at all except foam and clean. I’ll post some before and after pics! I hope this helps someone looking for the same result that I did:)

The gentian violet conditioner really helped for her socks too, however it needed a wash after with shampoo to get the purple out!

We use Vetrolin White N Brite shampoo & San Juan Ranch's Ultra Cruz Equine Bright White shampoo on my Pali's mane and tail the night before she shows. They both work great ....

I get my gentian violet in most pharmacies, then put about 10ml in the conditioner, the lemon juice and baking soda I guestmate to make a paste, start with about 100ml lemon juice then add the baking soda or soda bicarbonate until it’s paste like, then lather up the mane and tail with that! You can then pour clean lemon juice on that after about 10mins to make it fizz! Trial and error😂just wing the recipe!
