I have a three year old hard keeper who is pasture boarded, has a wind break but no covered shelter. Several other boarders mentioned that they blanket their horses in the winter - I never have blanketed before - any recommendations on blanket types? I think I will only blanket in wet and windy conditions or extreme cold? Do I need more than one blanket type - mid-weight and heavy weight?
