I've had Bliss for almost a month now, and I've been having problems with her 'worried' nature as I am still gaining confidence myself. I wouldn't ride her anywhere outside the riding arena without another horse leading the way.

Then I read http://www.horseforum.com/horse-training/how-we-train-fearless-trail-horse-99776/ And I was like, okay let's try this! :D I rode her on the trails by herself, and she was amazing! Whenever she tensed, I got her into a faster gait, and it didn't take long for her to figure it out. She only spooked once throughout the whole ride, and I turned her in a couple circles towards the scary object and she was like "okay." XD We rode between trees, next to giant dirt piles, near a parked trailer, in a narrow fence opening, and we even crossed the scary bridge of certain death that caused her to bolt once! And for those of you who saw my other post about her not liking jumps that are new to her... she jumped a couple logs on the trail without even looking at them! YEEE!

Aaahh I am SO happy with her right now! I hope we keep improving like this! :D

Sounds like she's progressing well! It's amazing how much people can help us over the Internet isn't it? :)

That's fantastic! The mares are always so brave once they get over their initial hurdles. You did great with her!

Congrats! It will just get better and better! Have you thought of doing any trail obstical courses with her? You can make them at home. Walk over tarps, ride through a gate and open and close while on her, put things in a mailbox, ride by balloons, have her go through water, back through poles, leg yield over poles....all great things to do with a horse and great way to get your confidence at a new level! Good luck and have fun!

Thanks you all! :D I'm just so proud of her. I was ready to battle with her on the trails that day, but she really didn't take much convincing! I have clearly underestimated my horse.

I've been thinking about doing that actually! Does it really help?
