I've been focusing more on pole bending this year. I'm still working on smoothing things out, especially that problem pole we hit. I can't always keep him off of it. So this is my work in progress I thought I'd share.

The video is kinda hard to see (blurry and dark) but just always make sure you are using lots of LEG to control his body during the run. In your slow work, make sure you keep him listening to you and your LEGS.

The funny part is I'm using almost all leg, nobody can see that in the video since it's so dark.

I wish there was a pole clinic around here. Might have to message her. I've only gotten to ride once since I took this video lol

Lol I know it, I'm just not a pole rider. The NPBA championships are at C-Bar-C this year too. My barn is even having shows sanctioned with them. As long as PA is Warmer lol

My little update, my first show was a few weeks ago since last July. Barrels wasn't much, drug over the first leaving it. But I was pretty proud of him the first time running poles at a show. I had the fastest time of a 21.2, next fastest was 21.9 but I couldn't keep him off the one pole. More slow work to do.

This is warm up, he didnt knock

He looks great on Poles! Perhaps that is where his niche is?

Thank you. His grandsire is Dinkys Red Man, DRM horses are known for being top pole benders. So defiantly his niche, he can run 1D in barrels he had a 1D time at the show. But at the great big shows he's 2D, I'm hoping to get him better on the poles since he's better at them.
