Hello!,

So i thought i'd ask you guys about your stance on religion :

What religion do you believe in?

Do you go to your church, mosque etc ?

Do you believe in premarital sex?

What does your religion mean to you?

Has your religion affected your opinion on alcohol?

So i'm now passing over the ball to you guys!

Btw, this thread might fit in better in another section. Moderator can move it, if there's a need.

Well if someg ground rules would help.... As in all posts should start with , MY view is XYZ................. and dont mention or refute someone elses view.
MY view is it's a philosophy of peace and love, yet they cant stop killing eachother over it.
Evil men will do evil, good men will do good, but it takes religion for good men to do evil.

I don't think that is true. Napoleon, Mussolini, and Jeffrey Dahmer were all atheists. I think bad people do bad things and use any reason, religion or otherwise, to excuse it.

But back to the original question....

I am Jewish. My husband is Catholic. We are raising our children Jewish. We do go to a Synagogue but since we move so much it is hard to restart at a new one, especially here were there are not very many Jews at all.

1. None, I'm an Atheist.

2. Not unless we count observatories and natural history museums ;-)

3. Believe, practice, encourage.

4. Question everything, base all understanding on solid evidence and never assume you're correct. Also, keep an open mind. I haven't ruled out the existence of benign omnipotent beings, I just am yet to be presented with any evidence of their existence :)

5. Health science and past experience indicate that too much is bad for the liver, brain cells and public reputation.

That wasn't really relevant to this thread. You can start a thread about that if you feel like discussing it.

It's very much relevant to the thread. You're asking about religion. Someone who doesn't believe in it has as much right to post their opinion as anyone else.

Methinks you don't understand how a public forum works. If all you want is agreement, then maybe you should start a blog and only let people post whose world views and opinions dovetail with yours.

Instead of asking others to bare their souls, why not throw out what your beliefs are first?

I moved the thread to "General" (because I don't think it fits in "Meet the Community"). However I have to say it's one of those threads that makes me feel uncomfortable. Religion is a very private and personal thing for every person, and I personally do NOT care who has what believes or religion.

With that being said I'm leaving a thread without giving those answers... Just please keep it civil and respect all responses and opinions.

What religion do you believe in?
I'm Athiest but my husband says I'm Humanist. He's probably right.

Do you go to your church, mosque etc ?
Heck no

Do you believe in premarital sex?
Yes

What does your religion mean to you?
Not applicable

Has your religion affected your opinion on alcohol?
Doesn't affect the taste. I don't drink much but because it mostly tastes bad and not because of a moral belief.

I believe good and evil are subjective. I envy the blind faith some people are able to have, how thu can just shrug things off and blame a higher power for the good and bad in their life. I also kind of feel bad for those of a faith too. I personally just can't do it.

What on earth are you talking about?. I didnt say that someone didnt have the right to voice their opinion. They can
do that but it has to be relevant to the thread their replying to. It's like someone would ask how to make a horse turn right and you start talking about how to make a horse stop because the thread is about horses. So check what the threadstarter is looking for to discuss and then reply.

What agreement are you talking about?. What's the point of replying if your not going to answer the posted questions?. I didnt ask anyone of what they think of religion. What i asked is shown in my thread start. You can't be for real..
