So I ride in a western styled endurance saddle by Allegany Trail Saddles. I opt'd for the western rigging, and ordered two extra long latiagos for V-rigging (or enduro-rigging, center fired rigging, etc). I use a western cinch and I cinch up by using a cowboy knot on my rear d-ring (for reference, this is my horse after I've saddled: https://i.imgur.com/PF6WfCL.jpg).
So, just wondering, for those who use the more english set up (here is the exact rigging I'm talking about: https://i.imgur.com/QUHR77i.jpg), how is it vs traditional western? I feel like I can make my girth pretty tight and I can adjust it easily, because I don't use the buckles on the girth. But with English, you use the buckles only.
Do your girths ever get loose going up and down steep hills? Do you have to adjust more frequently and tighten after riding for a bit?
I'm thinking about switching because it would save me some weight.
