New Member, Have Horses, Just Looking For Trail Riding Buddies

I have a few horses that I need to keep legged up. Iím in the Madison Ga area, kinda half way between Atlanta and Augusta. Just looking for a small group of people or individual, that enjoys trail riding and has the time to do it. Iím a cattle farmer, so my schedule is flexible. Just looking to log miles, not climb mountains; quick hits, 5 to 10 miles. I have a buddy to ride weekends, and we do once or twice every weekend. Iím looking for someone looking to do some week day rides. Iím not a champion this or that, I donít and have never shown or competed. Hard Labor Creek is close by, but Iíve never been there for trail ride, I have played golf there quite a few times. Iím a good guy, semi retired, masters degree in wildlife biology, easy going, just looking for like minded riding buddy that can trailer somewhere once or twice a month. Does that exist?

Too bad you don't live closer. There are several here that like to ride during the week.

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

I used to sponsor trail rides, back in the day. Ride clubs showed in droves, but I didnít keep records. Google for my area, really shows nothing. I know they exist, just need the right person.

Have you tried local FB groups and riding barns?

Welcome to the Forum!!

Have you tried your local Facebook for local trail riding groups?
Craigslist might also offer you some help connecting..
Try the "Farm & Garden" section and put up a post, nothing to lose, much to gain.
Your local feed store may know of groups or individuals who ride out during the week...
Farrier might be a resource too...

There are national organizations that may have chapters in your area..
Back Country Horseman's group comes to mind and there are chapters in Georgia that may get you going...
There are chapters all over Georgia...
...

The worst day is instantly better when shared with my horse.....

Like QtrBel said, FB groups may be found with people wanting to ride. I wish you luck, most people who work aren't available during the week, but you might find some. I have off during the week as well and have a hard time finding local people to ride with.

There will be only one of you for all time. Fearlessly be yourself.
