New Member from PA!

Hello everyone! I've browsed this Forum for a bit and have finally decided to join!

I live in PA and have been involved with horses my whole life. As a kid, I enjoyed Pony Club and 4-H and that is where I was introduced to the sport of Dressage, which is my primary discipline.

I've been lucky enough to have met and worked with many breeds of horses but my current love is the Friesian.

My parents and I share a passion for horses and currently own nine of them; a few Andalusians, some Thoroughbreds an Arab, a Friesian and a little pony that we just aren't sure what he is!! (Mustang? QH? Standardbred?)

There's no place I rather be than on my farm with my chickens and horses...

I look forward to participating within the Forum community!

You sound like my 16yo son, with your last comment & love of friesians! Darcy has a passion for chooks as well as horses & breeds & sells rare breeds as a business too. I confess I don't get that passion - I mean, I like eggs & the Polish ones are funny & cute...

Hello and welcome!:)

Which side of PA?

We have a few members from PA and I spent the first 50 years of my life on both sides of the OH/PA border.

We did a lot of riding in the Flying W area.

Hello and thanks to you all! I'm an hour south of Buffalo, NY. I pretty much do everything in NYS since I'm about five minutes from the border. I feel I basically get the best of both worlds living like that!

For me, just about every exciting horse venue is from 1-6 hours away, so traveling isn't too bad! I'm talking Equine Affaire in OH (woot! woot! love that!) to Dressage at Devon near Philadelphia and then the nice small, local shows in between! Gotta feed my horsey addiction!

I actually don't take a lot of photos of my horses, I think it's because I typically don't have my phone with me while I'm outside--too many places for it to drop and be the end of it forever!

Yes, my chickens are my therapy. After a stressful day at work, I enjoy relaxing with them and hearing their chirps and clucks and watching their industry while they search for bugs/worms in the soil.

Thanks again for making me feel welcome!
