Our mare has had this going on on her leg for about a week, at first we just thought she had scraped it kicking trough the fence at her new neighbor and treated it as such however it has become very hard and slightly raised almost. It isnt tender but was swollen the first two days, however she is prone to swelling in that leg when she acts silly, due to a fused hock. Are we just being ridiculous and it's a cut healing awkwardly? It was already "scabbed" over when we found it, it isn't obvious unless you look for it. Should we soak it?? We havent picked at it becauae we arent sure what it is and dont wantto further the issue. We do have the vet coming out next week to do teeth and such and will have him take a look, but figured id post here in the meantime Any ideas more than welcome!
