My horse always does a few sloppy poos a week and I thought it was normal but I'm just making sure. All of his other poos look normal and healthy. I feed him chaff and a natural feed each night and then just grass during the day. He is paddocked and doesn't live in a stable.

@kenzie_bork: Unfortunately, there are too many unknowns to be able to answer IMO.

EDIT: And I'm not too sure I'd be worried if it's just a bit softer than normal just a few times (2 or so) a week. What do you mean by a natural feed?

I guarantee if it's that concerning, it probably wouldn't be the first time your vet would be sent a text from an owner with a pix and corresponding questions. FYI: They might want you to provide vitals and an idea of what might be different recently in their intake or environment. Also, don't be surprised if they recommend a fecal a long with an idea of recent deworming done.

I interpret your "My horse always does a few sloppy poos a week .." to not mean daily, but every few days.
If my interpretation is correct then I would be searching his pasture /paddock existence to what he may be eating that changes his consistency of appearance that it is concerning to you.

Sloppy poo to me is flops, wet plops and less shape and consistency seen.

@kenzie_bork you just said, "The runny poo looks dry and" .... That doesn't fit my idea of sloppy poos. It's either sloppy or just different appearance but your description of "runny poo looks dry" makes me o_O
Chaff hay can be many different hays combined also makes me think something eaten is setting the gut "off".
