So most everyone knows that I have been riding Dobe in a soft hackamore for a while and he does wonderfully. Anyway, I was cleaning in the tack room the other day when i came across a rawhide bosal that is probably older than I am. So I got to thinking that i would really like to give it a shot on Dobe and maybe on Koda. I am so proud that I made the bridle myself from some scrap leather and tied my own fiador and throatlatch before attaching the mecate rein. I just finished it a little while ago because I had to bring the bosal into the house and let it soak for a while then use a scrub brush on it. It was covered with fly poo and dirt and was slightly misshapen from hanging in the tack room for years. I can't wait to give it a shot tomorrow. :D I just learned how to tie the fiador knot the other night and kinda figured out the throatlatch thing myself tonight. I hope it works. :-p

Thats probably a $300 bosal. That was a great find and it looks very well made.

Wow, that looks real nice. Great find on that bosal too, it looks like a good one. Looking at those pictures makes me wanna go rummage through the tack room to find some different headpieces to use on my bosal. I like that throatlatch too, if I keep using the bosal I have then I'm gonna need to do something like that cus the thing falls off when my horse puts his head down and grazes or goes for a drink.

Haha, yeah ^^. It was kindof a "Geez, I'm fat and lazy; do we have to go riding again?" Plus the dogs go nuts anytime I lead him out of the barn so they were really barking in the first few pix. He doesn't like dogs. :D
