Top Cutting Horse Sires of 2022

Very good article. Some really good photos!

@knightrider: Do you want us to pick out of the sires or their progeny?
Either one. I know that you can't see conformation in some of the pictures, so of course, you can't choose one of them. I would just enjoy reading about why you would choose a certain horse, like @Dreamcatcher Arabians and @DollyandAya . I get flyers for Paso Fino stallions, and it is fun to just look at the pictures and choose one pretending if I would breed my Paso mare. I show these flyers to my friends and say, "Which one would you pick?" Just for fun.
I would guess @Zimalia22 would have a favorite, and I would love to know which one and why.

Where'd you find a height and how tall? All I've seen with height listed are 14 to 14.2. That in my experience is the range for many with a few 14.3 to 15. I'd expect the talker they get the harder to get down and work. I prefer a slightly taller horse just because I'm taller.

Well, I love High Brow Cat and Dual Rey. (Sorry, I just can't pick one ;)). They are both very successful sires and also have made names for themselves in the arena. I look at them and see classic Quarter Horses. Solid, smart and sound. Not to mention how impressively handsome they are!

They are all stellar examples of horseflesh and achievements made.

I like the 'O Lena crosses....they just have something extra to me.

That said, I would be privileged to have any offspring of any of these animals in my yard.
Since I do not compete though they would have a very cushy life of trail riding pleasure animal instead.
I don't own enough land where their great abilities could be used on a daily basis so....
The ability to go to the arena is always special, the ability to also go out in nature and cope with anything come your way is again, special and spectacular a brain in the head.
🐴....

I think you guys already know my answer, High Brow Cat without question. Since I've had one, I would absolutely LOVE to have another. The Cats are what all other horses strive to be! I know that's just my personal opinion, but it's pretty hard to argue with!

I started picking out horses a long time ago when I was in my early 30's. My husband and I went to a dude ranch for a week. The first day, the trail boss said, "All my horses are good. Pick the one you want."

I'm not good at conformation, and I tend to be blinded by color . . . so I wanted to do my best. I studied the herd for a long time, and finally picked one. The trail boss said, "No, not that one. That's my private horse. Nobody rides him but me. You picked the best one of the whole herd."

Then I looked some more and picked another one. "Not that one," he said, "That's my wife's horse. Second best one from the remuda." Then I picked a third one. "That's my son's horse. You can't ride him."

Well, I felt pretty good--that was exciting to me since I can't "do" conformation. I was mostly going by 6th sense, which I "do" right well. And after that experience, I started playing the game with other herds of horses that I would come across. Of course, mostly I just pick and nobody corrects me, so it's just for fun. But, to me, it is fun, and helps me improve on my conformation skills--or lack of them.

When @4horses was searching for a stallion to breed to her mare, she sent me photos of many of the stallions she was considering. Boy, was that fun!!! I loved her doing that.

For what it's worth, I saw Phil Rapp show that horse's great granddam Tapeppyoka Peppy back in the early 90s in Reno. Oh what a mare!! She was as good of a producer as she was performer.

As far as how tall he is, I would guess between 14.2 and 15 hands. Cutters are not real big horses.
